Garth Jacober began his horticultural career by working with Harry Ide at Harry’s Nursery in 1976. He went on to work in the landscape and gardening field for the next 30 years. Garth learned to care for and propagate camellia’s from David Feathers, a renowned camellia expert. Garth still maintains his own private camellia garden of over 500 specimens, many of which are one of a kind. Garth worked for Magic Gardens in Berkeley, as well as at Lazar Landscape which is based in Oakland. Garth became a master gardener in 1994 and has taught plant care classes at Heather Farms, Magic Gardens and at many of the areas local garden clubs.
